Have you decided what your challenge is?
Have you set a challenge that is 100% in your control?
Do you understand the principle of overwhelm - too much thinky?
Next step.....Live as if....
the challenge were achieved. That you have accomplished whatever it was you set out achieve.
A simple example
Your set challenge was to declutter your home.
A person who lives in a decluttered home knows that the only items to be brought into the home are absolutely essential items. Absolutely essential means that the purchased item is replacing an item that is broken, missing, an item that will be thrown out when you get the new one home.
Living as if
Another simple example
Your set challenge was to have great health.
A person with great health eats great food. They are aware of nutritional values of food, food groups and quantities. Its highly unlikely that a person who values their health will be grabbing a calorie laden, fatty takeaway for lunch - or dinner - or even a snack. If time was tight, they would bypass the regular takeaway places and head off to the fruit and vege shop for a quick snack or seek an alternative food source - a healthy choice from what is available.
Living as if
So set your intention this week - to live as if
What is your challenge and how do you intend to live as if.....? Post a comment and let me know.
Live an as if week!

What happens when you get stuck......?
You started off very nicely. You thought about your plan and it was a good idea.
You made up some excuses to not get started, then you read last week's post and managed to overcome them.
With renewed enthusiasm, you thought some more and realised the plan was 100% in your control (good stuff for a good idea).
Then nothing happened. What happened that nothing happened?

Too much thinky.
Too much thinky is the stopper of good ideas, good plans. It is that process of too much thinky that leads the mind to provide the excuse of - too much to do / to achieve.
We are no longer tired from doing too much - we are tired because we think too much about all the things we have to do. No wonder nothing gets done around here.
So - deal with overwhelm. Grab a piece of paper and head it up with your plan. Now write down the stuff you need to do to achieve the plan - little chunks. At this stage, there doesn't need to be an order to it - just get writing. Write down everything you can think of that relates to achieving your goal, your challenge. Keep writing until you are tired from writing - not thinking about writing but actually writing. Push past any little blockages you reach - where you believe you have no more to write (get through three of these blockages and you know you have everything covered).
Does this suddenly seem counterintuitive? Does it seem - if I write it down I will be more overwhelmed? Strangely enough, the opposite is true. The more you write down, the more space you clear in your magnificent brain, then better the poor overload thing can think clearly. Amazing and true.
Give yourself a moment to relax after you have written and give yourself permission to feel good about moving forward.
You are on your way to achieving your challenge.
Have a wonderful unwhelmed week.

Have you begun your Challenge?
If you have not yet started your challenge - now is the best opportunity to examine some things.
First - brutal honesty. Did you do anything at all towards achieving your challenge? Did you even think about it? Did you think about it - then simply dismiss the idea as somewhat fanciful, ideal or a dream (therefore impossible)?
Great - so, we have got now to the "what you acknowledge you can change" stage (if you haven't got to this stage yet, either drift off to another blog or read through paragraph two again). BTW - note down any of the excuses you used while reading paragraph two - too busy, too tired, no time, I would have like to but my partner / spouse / mother / father / child / doorman / telephone wouldn't let me / interrupted me / is sabotaging every effort I make.
Second - is the challenge absolutely and completely yours? Do you have complete control over it - I mean 100% no less? If not - change the challenge so only you control it. Your chances of success are incredibly greater if you control the whole thing.
Post a comment - let me know how you are going so far.
Have an awesome week.

What is your challenge for the week?
On Monday, you can choose to begin the week by thinking of everything that must be done by the end of the day, by Wednesday and / or by Friday. This will therefore be a week of yesterdays, a reactive week. If you are lucky, you may just keep your head above water and get through what tasks you have set for yourself today.
Make this your first proactive week, a week of todays. Set yourself a challenge - what do you want to achieve by Friday? Not only the stuff that already needs to be done, but something new - something different - something outside your comfort zone.
Write it down - then do it. Begin it - just one small step towards it means it is started.
Trusting you enjoy an inspired week!
